Dear All
A brilliant Bristol tournament was played out in pretty good
weather considering the forecast and played out with two new
teams reaching the final. A close final, but one the Pioneers
may feel was always in their control was played out infront
of good crowd as they won the game 7-2. There were some excellent
fielding plays, a few mistakes and some long home runs as
the Pioneers won infront of the Sportuk.tv cameras. The final
will be available for viewing from the middle of the week
onwards as expert commentry was provided by who else other
than myself and a Ginger man.
A full report on the Bristol tournament will be posted soon
along with pictures. The league positions currently stand
as per the league table - please note - where there are ties
in points, the runs against in group play from both Pioneers
and Bristol are the deciding factors. This is still to be
clarified.
Photo's to come.

Dear All
Matt and I have now had feedback from a number of teams
(Not everyone) about the ruling to allow NSL players to play
for other teams. A decision we took which we thought was right
at the time, has expired to be NOT what people want. I therefore
apologise for this but hope you all respect the position we
were in and we were trying to help tournaments have entries.
Therefore, following this feedback, teams will not be allowed
to borrow players from other NSL teams. Teams may borrow players
from teams not competing in the NSL tournament. (i.e B Comp
or Recreational Play). If you are short this is what you will
need to do. (Or play with 9)

H20 Win First Ever National Softball League Tournament -
Photos
15 teams competed in the first ever tournament of the National
Softball League this past weekend - as the Pioneers tournament
provided a cracking platform to get the league going. Two
brilliant days of softball, coupled with some amazing results
proved that the newer teams can compete against the established
teams at this level.
Los Amos De La Noche and Windsor Knights were two teams
who reach the finals and semi-finals respectively with Los
Amos competing in a tied ball game going into the 6th inning.
Only a late burst by H20 then allowed them to move away and
clinch the Pioneers title, for the third time in four years.
Reigning A Nationals champions the Dragons, could only finish
9th in this tournament, (8th in the overall NSL standings)
as they struggled with a lack of players. Munster, Coyotes
and Nottingham Arrows made their debut at this level of play
all competing in some extremely close score lines whilst Slammers
and Chromies went undefeated in round robin play but fell
to quarter final and semi final defeats.
A full round-up of this tournament can be found by following
this
link. News written by Dan Spinks.
The next NSL tournament is Bristol on the 4th and 5th July.

Dear All
The NSL has been working with Primate8
to help increase their exposure within the softball
market and in return, Primate8 are providing sponsorship
to the NSL. Primte8 were one of the major sponsors at
last years European Championships and are specifically
targeting the market where teams need matching t-shirts
(and hoodies) with smaller budgets. As such they are
providing the following offer, attached to this E-mail
to teams who would like to take advantage of this. In
return, they can provide 1-2 week turnarounds on purchases.
The NSL are grateful for the support Primate8 are
offering us and we hope that teams will take advantage
of this offer. Their website can be visited at http://www.primate8.co.uk/

Dear All
One of the ideas the National Softball League (NSL) have been
working on these past few months is a way of using the NSL
to promote British Softball more. I am therefore really pleased
to announce today that the final of the Bristol Tournament
will be covered by www.sportuk.tv.
This company will be filming what is sure to be a fantastic
final at the new grounds and facilities that the Bristol Softball
Federation have available this season.
www.sportuk.tv
film 'as live' sports events across the country. Live commentry
accompanies the footage which is then uploaded onto the website
a few days after the event. Any viewer anywhere in the world
can then watch the match 'as live' on their website, and should
they want, purchase DVD's of the game.
The NSL has this year been established and has fifteen teams
taking part. This is part of a major push, supported by the
British Softball Federation to push softball development,
initially at the higher level and then hopefully on a longer
term basis across the board. Having access to footage like
this will provide an excellent platform for growth.
The Bristol tournament, on the 4th and 5th July, is one
of three NSL tournaments this year leading up to the Premier
Nationals in August.
The NSL would like to thank its sponsorship with Covee
for making this opportunity available to them. For any other
information on the NSL, please e-mail info@nationalsoftballleague.co.uk.

Early April Update
The NSL entries are now closed and we are preparing for
the upcoming season with tournament organisers and sponsors
alike. Covee
have come on board as a major sponsor for the upcoming season,
and that will allow the NSL to provide some fantastic prizes
for NSL Winners and MVP's alike. We are keen to establish
and build the relationship with Covee, so please visit their
site by clicking on the Covee banner above. If you purchase
anything from Covee, please state in the comments field when
ordering that you play in the NSL. This is essential to keep
this relationship strong.
Redcliffe
Imaging will also be on board for this
season and they will be helping us with advertising material.
Please visit their site and if you want to purchase anything
from them, contact David Lee, mention you saw the advertising
on the NSL website and he may be able to arange some discounts
for you.
We've also released a press release worldwide. A copy of
this release can be seen here.
It is featured on one of the biggest unofficial websites related
to the 2012 Olympics - Inside the Games. Its great to see
the NSL getting some attention and if this helps draw more
attention to the BackSoftball campaign, then we are only happy
to help.
Finally, the NSL encourages all teams to get their entries
in for all tournaments they are intending to enter this season.
Your places are only guaranteed for so long, and with tournaments
having waiting lists, it is essential your place is secure
by paying.
Keep checking back and thanks for the feedback so far.
