During my first year
at Lancaster I stayed in halls, I lived in a ground floor
room in a block of 32 called Flookburgh. There were seven
other guys on my corridor; Rob (MP), Mike (Goatie), Adam (Boyns),
Mick (Harry Potter), Adam (Bish), Guy (Guido) and Chris (Giz).
We had some great nights out together and got upto loads of
mischief, including ending up with a surfboard in our kitchen.
Look at the photos section to see more of the mischief.

My room was average sized and came with the lovely complementary
curtains, bed cover and carpet. I could live with the curtains
and the carpet but there was no way I was going to keep that
70s style cover on my bed! However a benefit of using the
supplied cover was that every Tuesday you could take it to
be washed free, good ey? As you can see posters and other
wall decorations were essential unless you wanted to feel
like you were in prison.

Ah the lovely kitchen. This was so bad
at times that Im surprised we only got fined for it
once! At a meal time you had to try and find the cleanest
looking cutlery and plates - each had a few days worth
of food stuck to it. Every so often we would undertake
a whole flat gathering and wash everything, but it was
only a matter of time before everything was back to
normal. |
